Designed for Year 2. Children are challenged to recognise 2D shapes in different orientations, recognise sequences and work out next shapes in a sequence and reason about what shape would be expected as the nth in a sequence. They also have to come up with their own sequence using specified shapes such as quadrilaterals, shapes with 2 lines of symmetry etc so challenging them to draw on their knowledge of 2d shape properties.

This was a great addition to my consolidation phase of patterns in maths. I split the three sheets into three short activities to be undertaken via zoom. The children have been learning about patterns over the past few days so this type of activity with a variety of questions was great to provide an opportunity to test their knowledge and address any areas of misconception.
