This structured eight lesson literacy plan moves children from looking at the way speech is used in stories to understanding how it forms the basis of play scripts.
They will examine the difference in the structure and punctuation of dialogue used in different kinds of writing, learning how to make comparisons, and use what they have learnt to create their own plays in this engaging series of lessons.
They will then work in groups to consider how the dialogue could be read or performed to the best effect.
Each lesson includes a learning objective, success criteria, a detailed description of the individual/partner/group work, a plenary and all the resources required.
