Spelling rules covered:
- Words ending in -cious or -tious (e.g., cautious or precious)
- The /i:/ sound spelt ‘ei’ after c (e.g., receive or ceiling)
- ough words (e.g., enough)
- Words with silent letters (e.g., climb)
- Homophones (e.g., advice/advise)
Pupils work in teams to move across a treasure map, answering 30 spelling questions to collect points. Optional challenge questions give extra treasure. Along the way, teams may uncover bonus treasure, steal coins, fall into traps, or swap scores, keeping the game fun, competitive, and unpredictable.
