As a teacher and tutor, I know how difficult it can be to keep track of SATs progress, analyse scores and explain results clearly to parents. That’s exactly why I created this Year 6 SATs Progress Tracker & SS Predictor.
This Google Sheets resource has been designed to take the hard work out of analysing SATs data. Simply enter your student’s scores and the tracker will automatically calculate standardised scores, identify strengths and areas for improvement, track progress over time and generate a clear picture of how a child is performing.
Whether you’re a tutor working with multiple students, a parent supporting your child at home, or a teacher monitoring progress, this tracker helps you quickly identify what is going well and where additional support may be needed.
What does it do?
✔ Tracks performance across all 5 Year 6 SATs papers:
- Reading
- GPS (Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling)
- Arithmetic
- Maths Reasoning Paper 1
- Maths Reasoning Paper 2
✔ Calculates predicted Standardised Scores (SS)
✔ Estimates overall SATs attainment
✔ Highlights strengths and areas for development
✔ Shows the gap to the expected standard
✔ Suggests recommended intervention areas
✔ Tracks improvement over time
✔ Produces clear, parent-friendly reports
Easy to use
The Score Log is the only page that requires any manual input.
Simply enter:
- Date
- Student name
- Practice area
- Raw score
- Total marks available
Everything else updates automatically, including the Student Overview, Dashboard and Report pages.
Why I created it
I wanted a simple way to monitor student progress without spending hours analysing spreadsheets and calculating scores manually.
This tracker gives an instant overview of how a child is performing, helping you focus your time on what matters most: supporting their learning and helping them make progress.
Perfect for:
- Tutors
- Teachers
- Tuition Centres
- Home Educators
- Parents
Whether you’re tracking one child or dozens of students, this resource provides a professional, easy-to-use system for monitoring progress and identifying next steps.
I use this style of analysis myself when working with students, and I created this tracker to make that process quicker, clearer and more effective for everyone.
