A fully planned, 2-week unit based on producing an explanation text - writing based on the Stormbreaker novel. Final outcome is for children to write an explanation text for a new spy gadget that they design.
Resource includes a Smart Notebook file analyses the Explanation wagoll in detail, line by line. The file also includes starters for each lesson based on key grammar skills to include.
Also included is the WAGOLL (based on material from the Alex Rider website) that was used as our oral text, a planning activity and a writers toolkit - all editable to match your class needs.
Used with Year 6 but would be ideal for KS2 and KS3. Engaged both boys and girls and led to some excellent writing.

Not worth the money. There are far better units out there for far less money. Buy those! The planning is not all there either.
