This 13-slide PowerPoint focuses on autobiographical writing by looking at a 3-page extract from Chapter 4 of Boy by Roald Dahl (text is not included on the PowerPoint).
Pupils analyse what makes Dahl’s writing entertaining. Suggested answers to all questions are supplied on the PowerPoint with a summary of Dahl’s techniques provided on Slide 9.
Pupils then plan and write their own autobiographical piece describing one incident which happened to them. If they wish to peer review, some pointers are provided on the last slide.
