Year 8 Peter and the Wolf

A 6 week SOL based on Peter and the Wolf for a year 7 class. (Can be adapted for year 6 and 8)

The aim of this project is to explore the instruments of the orchestra, learn how music and words fit together, explore graphic notation and composition.
The end aim of the SOL is for the students to compose new music for each character alongside a graphic score. Then they can put this together with the text and do a whole class performance. They will each have a graphic score poster which could be then used for displays :)

Throughout the module, students will explore different pieces of music and learn about key musical elements. The composition tasks can be done by using classroom percussion, keyboards, ukuleles and/or students own instruments.
