Plan, presentation, plenary, questions and extensions all provided. Children focus on “x” meaning “lots of” to draw
arrays to help them work out multiplication questions. They count the number of dots to work out the
answers. Extensions are finding the number sentence for a completed array and/or word problems. After this they can write their own questions for a partner to solve. The presentation is also in a pdf in case there are compatibility issues. The plenary examines how you can write a multiplication number sentence in two different ways eg 6 x 2 or 2 x 6.
