This is designed to take the students from simple expanding a bracket to simple factorising to multiplying out two brackets to factorising quadratics to simplifying algebraic fractions to solving quadratics by completing the square to solving quadratics using the quadratic formula and simultaneous equations involving quadratics. There are questions for each as well as examples and explanations. Between each section there is a 'Where are you now?' section to show progress.

Thorough and well designed resource. Was taught A-level by Mr Lutwyche and now borrowing his resources to teach maths myself at secondary :)

Solve the quadratic equations by completing the square to find the punchline to a (pretty average) joke. My Year 12s liked it as a quick reminder though! Some involve rearranging first and they aren't too difficult - I will use them with Year 11 too.

These questions (with full solutions) are carefully chosen for students to take the first steps, then strengthen their skills in changing a quadratic expression into its completed square form.
