A collection of slides with a range of starters, mini mastery tasks and activities - some that I created myself and others I've found on the web! I hope you find it useful. Please drop me a review :)
I created this for Year 4 to use as a baseline. The expectation is that children will do as many as possible within 10 minutes. The questions are mixed so children cannot simply recite the times table and complete the answers but the tables are grouped so once you see a child make mistakes on, say, the 3 x table then you can see they are not secure on that table and assign it as their focus table. The list starts with a few questions multiplying by 0 and 1 and then presents tables in national curriculum order - i.e. 2,5,10, 3,4,8, 6,7,9, 11,12.
A quick number assessment to test retention of written and mental calculation methods, including short and long methods, decimals and BODMAS.
2014 Curriculum.
No fractions related questions - purely number and place value based calculation.
A game for children to practise and develop their understanding of place value.
Please see instructions within the resource.

A set of 5 progressive division 'crib-sheets' linking the written method to base-10 and numberline. Useful for introducing/revising the written method for division.
Three worksheets with a very thorough consideration of the outcomes that occur in typical questions on this topic. These sheets have been really helpful for my students of all abilities, to get to grips with considering the possible outcomes of events and writing them down in a systematic way.
I have worksheets on more than 50 other topics – click here 👉 https://tes.com/.../worksheets… to see them.

Times Tables Matching Cards - Included are all the times tables from x2 up to x12.
Each times table fact is displayed on its own card with the matching answer on a separate card.
Each card measures approx. 5cm by 9cm.
Font used is Sassoon Primary.
Ideas for use:
As a matching activity by individuals/pairs/small groups
As flashcards during the oral/mental part of the Numeracy Hour
As an interactive display, requiring the children to place the correct answers against the facts displayed
To show that changing the order of the digits in facts does not affect the answer,
e.g. 4 x 5 = 20 is the same as 5 x 4 = 20
As an interactive group/class matching activity on the board (use blu-tac)
…and lots more!!!
Addition and Subtraction word problems for Year 1/2. Differentiated into 4 abilities.

NC Guidance:
"They discuss and solve problems in familiar practical contexts, including using
quantities. Problems should include the terms: put together, add, altogether, total, take
away, distance between, difference between, more than and less than, so that pupils
develop the concept of addition and subtraction and are enabled to use these operations
flexibly"
Lesson plan including differentiated worksheets and real life examples and applications

HA- instead of writing the numbers 1-10 in the inner circle they can mix them up so they're not relying on counting up.
Two posters illustrating column addition and subtraction without exchange. Extra versions included with different wording instead of "no exchange" - "no regrouping", "no carry over", "no borrowing".
A4 size, can be printed larger with no quality lost, can also be scaled down and used as reference cards.
