A very simple to use tracking grid that can be passed up with cohorts. All a teacher/LSA needs to do is put in the short date of when a child moved on to the next level/box.

These handy flip-packs enable children from Years 2-8 to improve their vocabulary choice within writing lessons. To create the final resource all you need to do is cut out each 'colour', laminate them and then hole punch through the hole on each laminated colour. A treasury tag can then be used to keep them all together.
I have one of these on each desk my children sit at and they find them very useful. It also gets the point across that there are many ways of saying the same thing, but some ways are more impactful than others!
GPS questions to help a child reach the expected standard for the end of Key Stage 2. Included for every question is a mark scheme and examiner notes.

A four-way differentiated activity sheet/ worksheet to develop an understanding of conjunctions and adverbs.
Challenge 1 - improve sentences by adding in coordinating conjunctions.
Challenge 2 - improve sentences by adding in subordinating conjunctions.
Challenge 3 - improve sentences by adding adverbial sentence openers.
Mastery Challenge - Vary the position of subordinating conjunctions and adverbs within sentences.
Two information texts about the same subject (volcanoes). One is significantly better written than the other. A good activity to get children to compare and contrast written text, particularly good for getting children to spot grammar features and high-level punctuation.
The details are not glaringly obvious but word choice is markedly improved in the better version, as well as more detail having been added.
A VCOP'd poster version has been included to display the features in your class.
Also excellent for getting children to summarize a text.
This resource pack includes a everything you need for the children to have a go at writing a high-level Newspaper. Included is:
- An example modeled newspaper article, complete with headline, text, pictures, advertisement and Year Six standard Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (in pdf and .doc format)
- A blank template. I've set this so that the text automatically flows into the other text boxes as children write more. This will save a lot of teacher time in lessons. Helpful to allow a bit more independence!
