Three tasks relating to the great film María llena eres de gracia, a film that can be studied for the AQA A-level. These resources would work well immediately after an initial viewing of the film. One is a PowerPoint with sentences requiring students to translate into Spanish, another a Word document with a brief plot synopsis requiring translation into English. The final task is an activity requiring students to match sentence starters to the correct endings, relating to various events that take place in the film. Very nicely presented and with a great flow between activities.

A great way to combine twentieth-century Spanish poetry with grammar practice. Students study the poem ‘Amapola’ by Nobel prize-winning poet Juan Ramón Jiménez and complete the gaps with the correct form of the future tense. The poem can be read aloud by the teacher, students or via the multiple versions on YouTube. Suitable for higher GCSE and A-level.

Two really important and often-neglected areas are looked at in these bright and clear PowerPoints- spelling and pronunciation. First, make students aware of the importance of pronunciation and accent via the PRONUNCIATION PowerPoint that highlights and allows for practise of key sounds in Spanish.
