I am a KS3-4 Physics teacher currently teaching in the North West of England. In addition to physics, I am also pursuing an Astronomy GCSE for my school. I will only upload items that I am proud of and as such I hope you will agree are of a good quality.

Circuit Components - GCSE Physics AQA

(0)
This is an introductory lesson into circuit components and drawing circuits. Designed specifically for stretch and challenge. It includes a sorting activity, a designing circuits activity and a mark scheme to go with it. There is also a challenging extension question included and an extra mark scheme for this. Made specifically to fit into AQA GCSE Physics, but could easily serve as any introduction into circuits lesson.

Lesson 3 - Series Circuits - KS3 Electricity

This is an introductory lesson into series circuits. I liken series circuits to a roller coaster at the start for a different analogy. This lesson also contains a practical activity, again with a worksheet provided. I have also added the learning mat for the lesson. I have two free resources from the SoW if you would like to see how I structure these lessons. Please visit my shop to find them.

Revision of Electromagnetic Waves Topic - Combined - AQA New 2016 Physics Specification

(0)
This is intended as a revision worksheet summary of the electromagnetic waves topic in AQA Physics 2016. This includes the content relevant to the Combined course and as such does not contain sections that Trilogy physicists need. (These can be found on a different sheet) I have used the AQA specification to create all of these questions and as such should not be missing anything major from the topic. The last slide are question cards you can hand out as an extension for students who finish to make their own questions for their peers.
Lesson 10 - Charge and Current - KS3 Electricity

Lesson 10 - Charge and Current - KS3 Electricity

(0)
An equation heavy lesson using the Q = It equation and concept. Again, I emphasise how to use the equation a lot in this lesson. Your most able classes will likely also need an extension task with this lesson, especially if you have 1 hour lessons. Included are the ppt and the learning mat for the lesson. I have two free resources from the SoW if you would like to see how I structure these lessons. Please visit my shop to find them.

Revision of Space Physics Topic - Physics Trilogy - AQA New 2016 Physics Specification

This is intended as a revision worksheet summary of the space physics topic in AQA Physics 2016. This unit is Physics only as standard, so I have included all content including Higher Tier content. I have used the AQA specification to create all of these questions and as such should not be missing anything major from the topic. The last slide are question cards you can hand out as an extension for students who finish to make their own questions for their peers.

Numeracy in Science - Big and Small Numbers

This is my PowerPoint that is geared specifically to help embed mathematical skills in a Science context. This one is concerning large and small numbers/standard form. I have created this to make it as simple to follow and build upon as possible, with the intention of making this accessible to students from all year groups if necessary. I have also created a worksheet specifically for this lesson. Any appropriate worksheet could be used in place however.

Resistors - Lesson 6 - AQA Physics Electricity topic 2016 Spec.

(0)
This is my lesson on resistors and how they work. I have also included all worksheets that I made to teach it. I also used an exam question, however as this is copyrighted, I have not included this. It will be easy enough to find a suitable replacement however. Lower ability classes will take longer on the fact sheet section, so you may need to adjust timings.

Measuring the Resistance of a piece of wire (Part 1) - Lesson 4 - AQA Physics Required Practical

(0)
This is the first part of a double lesson I used to teach the required practical on measuring resistance. You will need AQA practical worksheets as well as this which can be found on their website. This lesson itself may need to be a double lesson, depending on the ability of the class as I found that a demonstration of setting up was needed for lower ability classes first.

Radioactive Decay and Half Life

PowerPoint designed to be used for the old additional physics AQA Scheme of work, but still perfectly usable with any exam board for the content. It will need a worksheet or set of exam questions as I have used Exampro questions and thus are copyrighted.
Lesson 4 - Parallel Circuits - KS3 Electricity

Lesson 4 - Parallel Circuits - KS3 Electricity

(0)
This lesson covers parallel circuits and how they operate. included is a powerpoint, experiment worksheet and a learning mat. I liken parallel circuits to a motorway toll road to help visualise the concept first. The lesson is designed to fill around 50 mins, but could easily fill an hour with more experiment time. I have two free resources from the SoW if you would like to see how I structure these lessons. Please visit my shop to find them.
Lesson 5 - Current and Resistance - KS3 Electricity

Lesson 5 - Current and Resistance - KS3 Electricity

This is the first lesson in the SoW that needs an equation - it’s a required to remember equation for AQA physics. The lesson is a calculation heavy lesson and fistly models how to use power triangles and equations, then the students can attempt a differentiated demonstrate task. The most able students will likely need an extension task, so have one to hand. I have two free resources from the SoW if you would like to see how I structure these lessons. Stopping Distance - AQA KS4 Topic

(0)
This is a lesson I made to teach stopping distance. In it I also used an exam question on stopping distance, but as it is copyrighted I will not also upload this. Please source your own. The video starter is a powerful hook and the consolidate/plenary is also a good evaluation tool.

AC and DC - Lesson 11 - AQA Physics 2016 Spec

(0)
This is a power point covering the differences between AC and DC. You will need to add in an AQA worksheet on the topic for assessment and you will need an Oscilloscope, power pack and cell as well. I tried to link AC to a heart beat as this could be completely new content for a year 10 class. I have put suggestion on how to lead the starter in the comments of the lesson.
