Do your students need help to spot their own mistakes? Why not try the Past Tense Verb Auction? Students start with 100 points. They must decide if the 15 sentences are correct or incorrect. They must bid points according to how certain they are of their decision. For example they could bid 100 points that the sentence is correct, or 50 points that it is incorrect Each slide contains 6 built in timers so the teacher can decide how long the students have in order to place their bids. If students guess correctly, they win double the points that they have bid. If they are wrong, the points are lost. The winner is the person with most points at the end.

An easy, no prep way to build some retrieval skills and speaking practice in to your lessons. 12 questions in French based around the GCSE topic of Global Issues. The questions flash rapidly across the screen. Press “S” to pause the presentation and generate a question for your students to answer. For students who need that extra support, a set of sample answers is also included as a separate file. You could test your students’ comprehension of the questions by simply asking them to note the letter of the correct answer; or ask them to amend the answer (either verbally or in writing) by changing the text highlighted in red.
