First half of the new KS3 Y7 Collins Chemistry topic on Physical chemistry: Atoms, Elements and Compounds Separating Mixtures Dissolving Solubility Saturation Salt Extraction Distillation Includes all worksheets and lesson plans, in a "pick up and teach" style, so minimal tweaking required. Sadly I can't include videos as they are found on Youtube and not my own property. I have placed their links below for you. Made for the New GCSE AQA Chemistry spec to be sat Summer 2018. This is a strict lesson regarding timings. If you pause too long early on, you will likely run out of time. Can be spread over 2 lessons if preferred to allow for recrystallisation stage not shown here or for simply more time to take over the reaction. Also included, is the required practical assessment for the lesson.

Made for the New GCSE AQA Chemistry spec to be sat Summer 2018. Uses an old (but good) RSC video on Aluminium Extraction that I watched myself at GCSE many moons ago. Can be found easily on youtube, but here's the link I used in particular: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaSwimvCGA8

Made for the New AQA GCSE Chemistry course to be examined Summer 2018. Uses a demo where a 2 metre length of insulated wire is coiled up, has a current flowing through it and is submerged in freshly boiled water. A reading is shown on an ammeter. It is then swiftly plunged into an ice bath to show how the current increases. Even at this short length there is a decent half an amp increase on our equipment. If you were feeling wasteful, you could use an even longer piece of wire and see a low voltage bulb dim and glow brighter.

Big Fat Quiz of the Year

This is a summary quiz of the years events including a round on Science, which is easily edited for your subject and key-stage to make that relevant. The rest of the quiz includes various rounds with questions to challenge and engage and a final mind puzzle at the end which will take longer. A nice fun way to finish the year!
