What happens to the energy used in appliances? What are Sankey Diagrams? How can you draw accurate Sankey diagrams? This powerpoint has many activities with teacher answers to guide students through drawing and understanding Sankey diagrams. To use this lesson to it's fullest, students will need mini-whiteboards and the teacher could use the interactive whiteboard to get students to draw on. Please also check out my other resources for top quality teaching materials.

I will be updating this folder with even more lessons as I make them. I make my lessons with very high expectations of the students so some of the content may be past KS3. Please leave feedback and check out my other resources. Keywords: Bases, pH Scale, indicators, litmus paper, red cabbage, Neutralisation, Salts

Isotopes and Mass

- Tutorial - Examples - Quizzes - No Worksheets needed - Peer Marking - Foundation Level. This was made for my bottom set year 9 class who have just started their foundation GCSEs. They are really trying but much of this stuff is proving very difficult for them. This is therefore aimed at very low level learners to help them understand the meaning of isotopes first and foremost. There is also a little bit on Relative Atomic Mass and Relative Molecular Mass with calculation questions.

How to draw a graph in science (Guide/Poster)

It surprises me how many KS4 students still need to be taught how to draw a graph. An essential scientific and mathematics skill forgotten by most science teachers due to the content driven curriculum. This resource is very 'How Science Works' This can be used as a poster in the centre of student examples, displaying perfect graph work or even examples of what not to do. Or this can be used as a guide to stick in their science books.

This took me a long time to make. Hopefully its all right and you guys find it useful. Sorry I couldn't fit in combustion of fossil fuels. You can get the kids to draw an additional arrow for that in their books. :)

By the end of this lesson students should be able to describe the factors that can slow down the rate of photosynthesis, and analyse data on these factors. Please read slide notes for any extra information. (On all my PowerPoints I put text that should be copied in blue).

A simple worksheet I made to help my BTEC class answer the assignment questions for P5. Asks about the effect of different concentrations on rates of reaction, as well as the possible effects of temperature, catalysts and particle size. Hope this is useful.
