I designed this as an independent study homework pack on the Victorian Era (for Y8), which explores lots of the relevant context, non-fiction and fiction necessary for preparing for exams in Y11, whilst still containing lots of research and creative activities as well! Any feedback welcome.

There are six fully-planned sessions to encourage students to extend their vocabulary, knowledge of language devices and use of imaginative content in their writing. This resource can be used with a teacher to guide, or wholly independently. There are references to the region we live in within this booklet - you may wish to edit that to reflect the area your school is in.

I spent a long time writing the original short stories used in this booklet, covering Language Paper 1-5, so please be gentle in the reviews… Lots of resources, with entry and exit tests for all the questions on the paper. This is a perfect opportunity to give students a chance to think about travelling the world: camping trips, going to the beach, and terrible holidays.
