A simple and very interactive way to introduce distance-time graphs. Challenge students to act out each of four graphs as the timer moves across. You will need to mark out an 8m stretch of classroom for them to move along. I use a high score table adding each competitor in turn. Animated correct answers are supplied as well as an embedded worksheet - a fun consolidation task.

An exemplar FREE Four in a Row game on Radioactivity is available to try before you buy. Four in a Row games on six other physics topics are available individually from my shop or as a bundle at a greatly reduced price. Four in a Row is a game for your whiteboard. Nothing needs to be printed or prepared to play this game. The game-play is somewhere between noughts and crosses and blockbusters. Two teams alternate, competing to correctly answer questions on the grid. The board is interactive - clicking tiles changes the colours and also reveals answers. X-Rays in Medicine Four in a Row is designed primarily for the AQA GCSE Physics/ Combined Science course but may be useful elsewhere.

The year 12 A level Physics Olympiad exams are in January and March every year. It’s tricky to start training students on challenging questions at the start of their A level studies as they haven’t covered much relevant content. Originally used for a fantastic remote learning lesson for AQA A level Physics Engineering Moments of Inertia topic. Using these resources students will carry out a virtual practical to measure the moment of inertia of a flywheel. No teacher input required! The pdf file allows students to independently master the underlying equations for the flywheel practical using an interactive book. In the second section of the lesson students take measurements of a flywheel from a YouTube clip to use with the equations. A great lesson, very strongly recommended. After completion, students will be able to conduct the same practical independent of the teacher. A justified boast for a thorough and engaging lesson. Plays by the same rules as popular children’s card game “TopTrumps”. A card game with twenty-three different fundamental particles. I recommend this to introduce the particles topic at A-level, it is very engaging. Make up a whole class set for students to work in pairs they will accidentally learn loads whilst having fun. My students often have the cards in front of them throughout the topic. Added rules for annihilation when a particle and antiparticle meet. Graphics used by permission by the Particle Zoo
