This is a lesson which teaches how to work out the differences in time on a 12 hour clock. It is pitched at Lower KS2 and is perfect for Years 3 and 4. It has a 29 page PowerPoint which clearly demonstrates how to work out the differences between times on a 12 hour clock using a scaffolded approach. There is then a fun, differentiated group activity where the children must solve various questions focusing on differences between times. Also, each sheet contains a problem solving extension. Their answers will correspond to a secret code which can be revealed for each group at the end of the activity using the PowerPoint. I have also included a lesson plan which I recommend using when teaching this lesson. I have used it several times now and it has been a great success! The children absolutely love defeating my mathematics villain, Dr Doom.

This is a bundle for my editable Dr Doom games. This is suitable for Lower KS2. It includes a column addition, column subtraction and multiplication game all of which are editable ensuring constant reuse. I have also included the black and white versions although these are not editable. Four problems which require children to problem solve with percentages, decimals and fractions. This is aimed at Y5/6 children and the sheet can be easily adapted for differentiation if needed.

Here are two worksheets (differentiated by complexity) which require children to work with negative numbers.
Firstly they must add the missing numbers to the pattern.
Then they have some addition and subtractions which require the use of negative numbers. Finally, they apply their knowledge to answer word problems.

This is a resource children can use to multiply by four. They see that doubling a number twice is the same as multiplying by four. I call it the 'Double-double machine'. Here is my template complete with an example.
An activity where children are given a simple recipe that serves six people. They must upscale the recipe to make different amounts and finally downscale it to make three. This is a way to test and consolidate the children’s knowledge on ratio.

Five problems all based around problem solving with area. Most of these require multi-steps to solve. This is perfect for Upper KS2 but would work equally well as a recap in lower KS3.

Children have to decide which numbers has the X-Factor by reading the judges' comments and using their knowledge of factors. Finally, they must explain their knowledge of the word factor.
Children must draw a picture to illustrate the division problem. They can then use bus stop divisions to answer each word problem.
