A set of worksheets I designed to help children practice using a dictionary. The first few letters are correct and children have to find the words in the dictionary, listing the page number at which they find them and correcting their spelling. (Tip, make sure you have a set of the same dictionary types for this!) Also… -KS2 Scheme. -A list of the ‘100 most common mis-spelt words’ that I found and edited from the internet. 2018 Update. These resources were originally based on a specific lesson observation, I have since included a massive amount of extras. I have included a presentation file in BOTH Mac (Keynote) and Windows (Powerpoints) formats, this particular lesson was used in an observation highly sucessfully (outstanding) during my performance management 2 years ago. I can’t stress how helpful the notebook file is to illustrate this. Suitable for years 2-4 I have also included a lesson plan for this particular lesson I was observed on and a large collection of differentiated worksheets.

A document for parents and pupils to sign. Invaluable for E-Safety and security. Editable as I have included my word version of the document. Has gone down well with many schools. This is a snippet from the top of the document... Parents / Carers play a crucial role in ensuring that their children understand the need to use the internet / mobile devices in an appropriate way. Research shows that many parents and carers do not fully understand the issues and are less experienced in the use of ICT than their children. The school will therefore take every opportunity to help parents understand these issues through parents’ evenings, newsletters, letters, website / VLE and information about national / local e-safety campaigns / literature. This agreement is aimed at fostering that approach. Invaluable and guaranteed to save you time.

I have also included a few extras that can be used to test children's 'best handwriting'

I am delighted that the conversion from Mac to PowerPoint is now reliable enough to transfer the special effects on this presentation to PC Powerpoint format as well! The animations of the number line are unique and extremely beneficial to the childrens understanding in this method. This lesson has been observed several times by colleagues in the past in my capacity as AST to illustrate how the use of teacher technology can improve maths teaching within a lesson. Starters included… There are also examples of worksheets, here this has always been one of my favourite lessons to deliver and I am delighted I can share it.
