Each grade level has a learning objective, as well as organizers and writing space to reflect on their reading and determine the text structure. There is also a notes page for important terms when looking for the text structure.
Weekly Writing Prompts for the Whole Year!
This resource comes with 5 differentiated levels:
1: Prompt with Traceable sentence starters
2: Prompt with sentence starters at the top of the page and blank dotted lines for completing the prompt.
3: Prompt with sentence starters at the top of the page and regular lines for completing the prompt.
4: Just the prompt with no sentence starters.
5: The prompt and sentence starters. Copy the prompt and sentence starters (or just the prompt) and paste it onto a google doc to have your students practice typing their response!
This activity can be used as a free writing activity, where students can write to a teacher, friend, pen pal or buddy from another class. It is a great way to practice letter writing, while also connecting with other people!

This Writing unit is created to teach students to write narratives, as well as other writing forms that are not practiced as frequently in school. This is differentiated to meet the needs of learners at 5 different levels (K - 8th). This unit includes:
Writing Prompts and Guidance (brainstorms/outlines/checklists/sentence starters) for:
* Fetch Quest Novel: The students got stuck in a video game! In order to get out of the game, they must pass each level of the game before it is too late!
* Recipe Book: Each student writes a recipe for a meal that they imagine a character a video game might eat.
* Users Manual: Each student write a userβs manual for a piece of technology that a character in the story might need in order to beat a level in the video game.
* Map: As a class create a map of all the places the levels the students completed in order to win the game.
* Wildlife Guide Book: Each student creates a creature that lives in the setting of the video game.
* Biography: Students work in small groups and write a biography for each of the characters in the story.
