I have been trying to find a social story on tummy ache for quite a while now with no success. Gastroenterological problems are apparently very common in kids with autism. The main reason for these is mostly stress.
I have written a story on how a child can deal with their tummy ache while they are at school. The document includes such advice as talking to an adult (teacher / teaching assistant), getting a drink and having a toilet break.
Simply talking though the child's worries or concerns can help relieve their tummy upsets. Drinking some water or going to the toilet may not always bring immediate relief but it will give a child much needed break during a stressful part of the day.
The document is in Word format and contains 11 mini flash cards (2 per page) including the front cover and the credits. The flash cards can be printed and laminated for durability.
A set of 30 positive affirmation cards. Great for building self-esteem in children.

For most pupils, transition to a new Year group is an exciting time. For some, however, it can be worrying and unsettling. This booklet is created to be used in KS1 and KS2. Teachers and teaching assistants work on completing the booklet together with their pupils, once completed - the book can be used as a Transition Social Story.
