I teach English Literature in the Seychelles and so follow the Cambridge specifications for iGCSE and A-level. I like to chose texts which are a little different for my students, and often this means there are initially very few pre-made resources available online. I try to focus on helping students memorise key quotes and internalise writing structures where possible; thus quotes sheets, 20 in 10s and example essay responses feature very highly in my resources.

'Measure for Measure' lesson 13 and 14 (Act 4.3-4.6)

(0)
These two lessons explores Act 4.3 to 4.6 of the play, considering the use of iambic pentameter, an analysis of key quotes so far, antithesis and key themes. Included in the lesson are worksheets, quotes, videos and full-lesson powerpoints with teacher notes. These lessons were planned for my maternity and so are slightly less interactive than my previous ones (though still detailed and fully-resourced); therefore two lessons have been included here.

'My Antonia' lessons 12 and 13 - Lena Lingard and Book 3 (Cambridge iGCSE)

Two lessons planned for an exploration of Lena Lingard and Book 3. The full PPTs include the whole lessons with objectives, quotes, discussion questions, interactive whole-class activities, videos, exam questions and sample paragraphs - all fully resourced and explained in notes for the teacher. The second lesson is less interactive and was planned to allow my class to catch up with reading and demonstrate their knowledge through written response. Planned for Cambridge iGCSE, but could be adapted for other syllabuses and age groups. Please see my other lessons for the same novel.

'Wuthering Heights' lesson 11 - chapter 10 and Heathcliff as beastial

(0)
Planned for Cambridge A-level students but could easily be adapted. This lesson focuses on chapter 10 as well as looking at how Heathcliff is associated with the gothic and beastial imagery. This was a shorter lesson and planned as the first back after a holiday, so the content is briefer than others in the SOW.
