Spanish -ar verbs conjugation card race - revision of all tenses

This is another of my verb card races. You need to print off some sets of the cards, cut them out and laminate them. Pupils then race each other to pick up the cards to match what they see on the screen. I have mine move their cards to an answer board to stop them from copying others and then you can award points to whoever has the right cards on display. It encourages a good sense of competition, can be used again and again, and makes verb drills fun. (Requires knowledge of present, preterite, near future, future and imperfect tenses)

GCSE French - using complex structures

(184)
PowerPoint and accompanying workpack designed to encourage pupils to use a variety of complex structures in their spoken and written French. An extremely useful reference and revision tool for pupils to use as part of their exam preparation. The presentation is designed so that teachers can deliver a set of structures at a time in any order they please. You could also upload it to your VLE for pupils to access independently. Please do let me know if you spot any mistakes. Includes exercises and notes on: negative expressions, direct object pronouns, relative pronouns, comparative, superlative, adverbs, connectives, emphatic pronouns, après avoir + infinitive, avant de + infinitive, continuous present, time expressions

These excellent resources come from 1jour1actu.com and are aimed at French pupils from CM1 and CM2. Ideally suited for use with A2 students, they cover the topics of poverty, education (the school day), politics, the freedom of speech and equal rights for girls and boys.

This is another of my verb card races. Print off the cards from the word doc and get groups to compete against each other to get the translations right. It uses the verb 'porter' as an example and requires knowledge of the present, perfect, imperfect, future and near future.

Present tense of regular French er verbs

I cannot claim credit for the original as this is adapted from a Spanish Ppt on ar verbs. It is full of questions and includes vocabulary relevant to most able pupils in KS3 and KS4 and could serve as revision for 6th formers.

Irregular Present Tense Card Race

Print out several sets of the cards and laminate them. Pupils work in pairs or small groups and race against each other to form the present tense with the cards after reading from the PowerPoint. Good element of competition and really highlights how much (or little!) they actually know. Can be easily adapted to suit your requirements too.

GCSE Spanish Controlled Assessment Checklist

This is a checklist I give to my class when they are writing or preparing passages which may later be used to create drafts for assessments. The box for controlled assessment phrases refers to the lists of useful coursework phrases from mfl Sunderland.

Game board with 75 spaces for you to use to invent your own questions on any topic. I have them mounted on coloured card and laminated.
