GCSE RE RELIGION AND CONFLICT

This resource has been created for the non-specialists I have teaching RE this year. It covers what's in a war/conflict thematic unit for all the major exam boards content-wise. The religions covered are Christianity and Islam. The slides about the different question styles, however, are specific to the old WJEC spec. The powerpoint is standalone - no textbook required. Feed back is always welcome as I intend to upload more resources for RE and history over the coming months. It would be great to know what's proving to be particularly helpful for people. Thanks very much, MissBezsays

Education in Nazi Germany - Mixed Ability/Differentiated

This powerpoint is best suited for key stage 3, though with a little tweaking it could easily be suitable for GCSE. The main activity requires some information from textbooks or handouts, if you use GCSE textbooks and journal articles it will be perfect for a higher level. Every slide is differentiated in some way and is therefore suitable for mixed ability teaching. Challenge is built in for the top end. I have left it set up with National Curriculum levels so you can convert them to whichever assessment your school is using instead. Take a look and see for yourself and then check out my other resources in case there's something there that would suit your students. Thank you.

Women in Nazi Germany - Mixed Ability/Differentiated

This powerpoint gives students the opportunity to compare how women were treated during the Weimar Republic era of German history, to the changes made during the Nazi regime. It is fully differentiated in a variety of ways. It is set up with old-style letter grades so you can adjust to the new numbers yourself. It is suitable for all exam boards but the practice question at the end is a 12 mark one in the style of Edexcel. It could easily be replaced with one from a different board. This lesson is good to go as it stands or can be developed to last a double lesson or even a sequence of lessons if you introduce a peer assessment element to the main activity. I hope it's really useful and cuts down on your prep time. Please check out my other resources. Thank you.

This is a really helpful list of sample 12 mark questions for the Edexcel GCSE History exam. Also included is a simplified version of Edexcel’s generic mark scheme for 12 mark medicine questions. These resources are suitable for teachers and students alike. They can be filtered into your planning and PowerPoints for lessons or if you are a student then you can answer these practice questions as part f your revision and ask your teacher to mark them for you. Let me know in the reviews what other resources you would like to see and I will add them as soon as possible.
