GCSE Physics - Free body diagrams and vector diagrams worksheet

(0)
A worksheet aimed at helping students to draw Free Body Diagrams. It also gives them the opportunity to calculate resultant forces and vectors based on information provided. Finally they get to draw vector diagrams to combine vectors to find a resultant. Aimed at GCSE Physics but also suitable for combined science.
Work and power calculations worksheet

Work and power calculations worksheet

(0)
A worksheet of difficult work and power calculations. Students need to combine equations such as F=ma to enable them to calculate the energy and therefore the work done. All based on real life examples.
GCSE Physics - Hooke's Law lesson plan, presentation and practical worksheet

GCSE Physics - Hooke's Law lesson plan, presentation and practical worksheet

(0)
A lesson plan, powerpoint presentation and practical worksheet for the required practical - Hooke's Law. This trio of resources allows you to teach a fully structured lesson around Hooke's Law. The students get the opportunity to practice calculating the gradient from their graph and then calculating the reciprocal to find the spring constant. For further Physics teaching resources please visit my shop Grade Gain.
GCSE Physics - Specific Latent Heat of Fusion and Vaporisation Practical Worksheet

GCSE Physics - Specific Latent Heat of Fusion and Vaporisation Practical Worksheet

(0)
A practical worksheet detailing a suitable practical for calculating the Specific Latent Heat of Fusion for ice and the Specific Latent Heat of Vaporisation for water. Included are results tables for the students to complete and circuit diagrams for setting up. The voltmeter/ammeter combination can be replaced by a joulemeter if you have sufficient joulemeters for class practicals. This practical is suitable for AQA GCSE Physics and GCSE Combined Science Triolgy Please see my shop bit.ly/TESncrumpton for further resources on Specific Latent Heat and other physics related topics. Thanks
GCSE Physics - Introduction to lenses and ray diagrams

GCSE Physics - Introduction to lenses and ray diagrams

(1)
A powerpoint that introduces students to the tips and techniques of drawing ray diagrams for lenses. It goes through formation of an image on paper using lenses, how to draw a ray diagram for a lens and culminates with image description. NOW: with added worksheet that is referenced in the PPT. Please remember to review - thanks.
Circuit symbol Card sort

Circuit symbol Card sort

(0)
The common circuit symbols that students are expected to know for GCSE Science. These are produced so you can print them out, cut them up and have a card sort activity. Print them onto different colours of card and laminate to make a long lasting resource. Covers all the common circuit symbols, switch, cell, battery, diode, resistor, variable resistor, LED, lamp, fuse, voltmeter, ammeter, thermistor and LDR. Also suitable for KS2 and KS3.
Power Lesson plan, presentation and practical worksheet

Power Lesson plan, presentation and practical worksheet

(0)
A complete lesson plan, presentation and practical worksheet about Power. Suitable for new GCSE (2016) any exam board (AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC). Suitable get set activity and starter coupled with a practical that can be modified to suit the equipment you have available. Students need to recall gravitational potential energy and power equations to complete their analysis.
Trilogy Physics Equation test sheet

Trilogy Physics Equation test sheet

(0)
A sheet to accompany my FREE download of equations needed for Trilogy Physics. This is a useful test sheet that allows your students the opportunity to improve their recall of the key equations for Physics. This can be used as a look, cover, write, check activity or as a test.
Powers of Ten and Standard Form Lesson plan and presentation

Powers of Ten and Standard Form Lesson plan and presentation

(1)
The lesson plan and accompanying presentation for Science students to learn about standard form, aka scientific notation, and common prefixes. The PPT is fully editable and has opportunities for AfL embedded into the lesson. Any images are CC0 license so royalty free. This takes students from guesstimating size, to understanding the need for standard form to recognising standard prefixes such as kilo. There is an accompanying homework task (available separately) - Powers of Ten, Prefixes and Standard form Homework/worksheet.
GCSE Physics - Particle Motion in Gases Lesson plan and presentation

GCSE Physics - Particle Motion in Gases Lesson plan and presentation

(0)
A lesson plan and presentation covering particle motion in gases. There is also a formula test sheet for the plenary. This lesson covers Amonton's Law, better known as Gay-Lussac's Law and the relationship between pressure and temperature for a fixed volume of gas. It also includes a demonstration I designed to show the increase in pressure from the increase of temperature for a fixed volume of gas without relying on a pressure sensor. More physics resources are available in my shop GradeGain .

Energy changes due to temperature (specific heat capacity) Lesson plan and presentation

(0)
A lesson plan and presentation to cover the energy changes in a system and specific heat capacity part of the new GCSE (2016) Physics and AQA Trilogy specification. Refers to required practical 1 - a FREE worksheet for this is also available from me, made from the AQA required practical document. Introduces specific heat capacity and then provides time for students to reflect on required practical.
Electromagnetic Spectrum Card sort

Electromagnetic Spectrum Card sort

(0)
This is a fun activity to help students learn the order of the electromagnetic spectrum. I print out the colour sheets and laminate them so students can hold them up, then get them to arrange themselves into the right order. They need to look for the visual clues to help them e.g. colours and wavelength on the background. This could be printed out in a smaller version e.g. 2 slides to a page and students can then do this in pairs or small groups. Great as an introduction to the electromagnetic spectrum but also good a s a revision activity.
