This ALL ABOUT ME lap book can be worked on throughout the first week of school, but older students should be able to finish the project in a single day, if necessary. The open-ended design makes it most appropriate for children in grades k-2, as they can each write and draw at their own developmental level.
•These books have been designed for use with Special Needs students in mind but can be used with any students.
•The purpose of this resource is to create an overview of each child for those instances when the regular classroom teacher may be away from class, and the sub or relief teacher needs a quick and easy overview of the students in the class.
•Assembly is easy with students cutting around the dotted designated lines and stapling or gluing the pages together into a booklet which can be displayed on the classroom wall or in a storage box for easy access.
•Children can have their information scribed for them by an adult or they can draw images that go with each page in the booklet.
1.All about me- what I want people to know about me (preferred name, likes- dislikes etc)
2.My family- whatever the child would like to share about themselves and their families
3.My Friends- Who I like to work with at school? Who I feel safe with at school? Who I like to play with at recess and lunch.
4.My Hobbies- What I like to do outside of school, my hobbies and interests….my ‘special things’
Anything else I would like to share with my carers and teachers
12 Emoji Themed Prompt Cards make guided reading fun
This resource includes 12 eye-catching prompt cards for during guided reading. These prompt cards will increase student engagement and foster comprehension during reading.
Do you find yourself helping your students to much when they stumble in reading? Constantly monitoring for our students when they make errors in reading can diminish a student’s confidence in themselves as readers when our goal is for students to can problem solve on their own at error.
These prompt cards are perfect tools to help you. They are designed for the beginning reader; however, can be effective for older students who continue to struggle at lower levels of reading.
Prompting areas include:
Re reading to check meaning
Checking to see if reading makes sense
Chunking
Looking at initial sounds
Reading fluency
Expressive reading
Does reading look and sound right?
Using all sources of information including pictures
Self monitoring for errors
Noticing Punctuation
Fixing mistakes at point of error
Thinking about the story and content

Printing Tips
•These cards are best printed onto card stock and laminated in order to for your students to be able to refer to them as needed throughout the year.
•If you would like to use color printing but save on ink, then why not print 4 to a sheet? These will easily fit into a pencil case or on desks without taking up too much space.
•For Student reference, these can be printed, laminated and put onto a key ring for easy reference
This collection can be used for classes from Kindergarten to year 8 as I have tried not to make them to babyish in order to suit the needs of a wide range of students.
•Pages that you choose can be printed back to back in order to save on paper. Be sure to print ‘fit to size’ for best results
•I have included a ‘2 to a page’ version which you can also print back to back as a way of saving more paper and creating a half sized memory book.
•Students may like to draw a picture of themselves in the star on the front page or you may like to include a photo of the student.
