This scheme of work covers the work of four contemporary theatre practitioners and is an ideal introduction for KS3 students and for those teachers new to Drama. By the end of this scheme of work, students should be able to identify and employ the basic concepts of Kneehigh, Melly Still, Complicite and Forkbeard Fantasy. Through assessment, students will demonstrate and consolidate what they have learnt.
We know how hectic a drama teacher’s life is, so these one-hour lesson plans are simply laid out and a doddle to follow. There are easy to photocopy handouts, lots of inspiring videos and many web links – so it’s important you can access YouTube to really take advantage of all the valuable resources.
Lesson Six: Lesson objective – to assess performance in order to reveal the students understanding of contemporary practitioners, by creating a short improvisation.

This Log book template is perfect for those students who struggle with writing. Each component helps kick start sentences appropriate for each section.
I find this template great for students to explain what achievments they are most proud of and what subjects they struggle in. It makes each report more personal and makes your job so much easier.
Weary, gentle Lib Dem drama teacher Alan loves Konstantin Stanislavski. Lively, brash, leftwing drama teacher Dave loves Berthold Brecht. Late one afternoon in the corner of a deserted staffroom these two very different men transform themselves into their very different heroes, as they go head to head to prove who is the greatest theatre practitioner of them all. In a highly entertaining yet informative way, this explosive new play explores the contrasting styles of Stanislavski and Brecht. Expect high drama – the gloves are off!
How will my students benefit?
A two-hander, written and performed by Richard Attlee (Kenton in 'The Archers') especially for schools, Stan v Bert is a novel and entertaining way to educate pupils about the theories and techniques of Stanislavski and Brecht. Accompanying the show is a post-show discussion plus two one-hour lesson plans. Price: £290 plus travel. For more information visit our website.
