the-ladybird-who-heard An interactive PowerPoint SHOW that students play in the form of a search and reveal. Questions to be used for the story ‘What the ladybird heard’ by Julia Donaldson. Comprehension questions are given and students press the star to reveal the answers. When the student has seen the three answers to choose from, they press the correct answer button. Correct answers lead them to the next question. Incorrect questions take them back to read the question again. This is a nice game to play with the whole class to check for understanding. Also, a great exit game. I have tried this with my own Year One class and they have loved playing this. You can extend the questions by asking students to explain why they selected their answers. Science-of-reading-sound-wall Sound walls are all the rage right now but the good news is that they are based off research! If you are not certain how to set up a sound wall, this product does ALL of the work for you. Just print and go… A 228 page printable product. I created this sound wall for my own classroom and I have included a lot of additional grapheme alternatives. The list is not complete but is very thorough and includes most common and additional representations.

This is a phonic powerpoint that was created as a warm up or revision of all of the initial alphabet code (a-z) in random order. There are also slides included that ask students to identify the initial sound of a picture shown for all of the sounds a-z. A voice over is also included so that students can listen to the teacher and repeat the sounds (as a small group activity with a splitter for headphones).

This resource includes the letters a-z (both capital and lower case) on each page with the sky, grass and dirt background. The cat is also depicted. The teacher can select which prompt is appropriate for the students. The resource can be used as a display or laminated and used for small group rotations or individual one-one assistance for students that require extra help. This can also be a handy resource to send home to parents if the student has an Individual Education Plan focusing on fine motor skills.
