7 rounds of Christmas fun designed for low ability or SEN students that might struggle with comprehension during quizzes made for the wider school. 70 Christmas questions in total but this could be cut down if needed.
Requires some basic knowledge of Christmas/key words, counting to 10, low level listening or reading ability. Can be done individually or in teams!
Instructions for each round and answers included!
Rounds
Round 1: Multiple Choice (simple) Christmas questions
Round 2: Christmas counting (items up to 10)
Round 3: Spot the difference! (Snowman differences)
Round 4: Who is that Christmas character? (Santa, rudolph, Grinch etc)

**Trick or Treat Halloween Mapping lesson! **
A very well planned, fun and engaging Halloween mapping lesson perfect for Geography, maths or anyone else wanting some educational Halloween fun!
Students have to plan a route around a town for a group or trick or treaters using compass, scale and map skills to calcuate distance, direction and place.
The lesson has a full mapping guide/how-to so can easily be taught by a none-specialist and equally, can be used with students who don´t know how to map read. There are clear objectives, tasks and extensions in the lesson. The lesson should take around 1hr - 1.30hr depending on group ability and the speed that the map guide is explained. The quiz should take around 30-45 minutes to complete and mark depending on how fast you go.
Round 1: 20 multiple choice questions about Halloween knowledge and Halloween in culture and tradition.
Round 2: 5 questions where students have 10 seconds to count Halloween related things (e.g bats).
Round 3: 5 questions, name the monster! Students see the monster for 3 seconds and have to name it.

A well planned and really fun Geography Christmas mapping lesson suitable for all ages at secondary and all abilities that uses lots of Geographical skills!
This lesson contains a full walk through on how to use a compass, scale and map so can easily be taught by non-specialists and supports students who might struggle by using examples.
Task 1: Reading directions on a map. Students use a world map to note down which direction Santa is travelling as he moves from country to country.
**Task 2: **Reading scale on a map. Students use the scale to measure the distances Santa has travelled.
**Task 3: **Plotting Santa´s journey across the world. Students measure direction and distance and plot Santa´s movements on the map, revealing a hidden message if they do it correctly… XMas!
The lesson contains starters, challenges and extensions and is well organised with a title and clear learning objectives.

This SoW is an online/booklet based scheme of work that would work best if learners have access to the internet. However, the SoW still functions very well as a printed document as most of the required content is included in the lessons though one or two lessons require internet for research or to watch some of the educational videos included as links.
The SoW consists of a well planned lessons and resources (12 lessons) that could work as either a KS3/KS4 Geography Scheme of Work on Plate tectonics and tectonic hazards (volcanos, earthquakes and tsunamis). It could work well for GCSE revision content too though does not follow a particular curriculum.

The lesson looks as the possible uses of bamboo and how it can be used for many different products and vital infrastructure and culminates in a decision making and letter writing activity in which the students write a letter to the boss of IKEA deciding whether or not bamboo should be used as a material for all of IKEAs products. Students can discuss their ideas and make their own mind up which will lead to a fun and interesting plenary debate!
