Your day 8 resource was gifted to you by Martin Grundy at Online Teaching Resources
A bit about the author:
I started making digital teaching resources in the early 2000s when schools stopped using blackboards (yes, they were still in most schools when I started back in the 90s!) and OHPs and switched to interactive whiteboards and digital projectors. As Second in English, part of my role was to transform our department’s teaching resources from pieces of paper to interactive digital materials. The results were well received by the department with some colleagues suggesting that I should set up an English teaching resources website. So, I spent the summer holidays that year building a website and within 18 months it was such a success I switched from teaching to running it full time. Today I have thousands of resources in my Tes store – Online_Teaching_Resources - and on my own websites that are used by thousands of teachers in the UK and abroad.
Specialist Subjects/Resource types:
English from KS1 to GCSE. Maths from EYFS to Year 6.
Teaching/Education experience:

A bit about the author:
Living in rural Wales, I’m passionate about crafting, gardening, and creating maths resources that make a difference. My own experience with arthritis has taught me patience and empathy for students who find maths challenging—it’s tough when something doesn’t come easily! I aim to provide supportive and creative maths tools that help students build confidence and feel proud of their progress.
Specialist Subjects/Resource types:
I create engaging maths resources mainly tailored for Key Stages 2 and 3, including activities like board games, skip-counting colouring sheets, scavenger hunts, flashcard books, and mindfulness colouring. My resources support maths learning with a creative twist, making maths enjoyable and accessible for students with maths anxiety and other learning challenges.
Teaching/Education experience:
As a former Key Stage 2 teacher turned maths tutor, I’ve taught ages 7-16 since 2017, focusing on students who struggle with foundational maths concepts. I hold a Level 5 qualification in supporting children with dyscalculia, dyslexia, and other maths difficulties, which helps me adapt lessons and use visual techniques to engage learners.
Your day 6 resource was gifted to you by Lynne R at WindupTeacher
A bit about the author:
My family and I live in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. I most enjoy spending free time with my husband, children, friends, and fur babies in the nature around us. Although we enjoy board games, puzzles, video games, and movie nights, I have found time spent in nature helps provide me with a work-life balance and a deeper connection with my loved ones. We enjoy hiking to waterfalls, going to the beach, jumping in a rowboat when possible, visiting parks, and having picnics anywhere we go! In my downtime, I enjoy reading all kinds of genres, gardening, learning about herbs, playing piano, learning the ukulele, listening to podcasts, and baking cakes and bread.

I love being a teacher but it is the most challenging yet rewarding job. I love learning so becoming a teacher was the perfect career path for me. Don't get me wrong, I fully understand how hard this job is- that's why I make resources so hopefully I can make other teachers' lives that bit easier.
