Akademeia High School
About Akademeia High School
Akademeia High School is a new international, academically-selective school in Warsaw, offering A-levels and GCSEs. We are an accredited UCAS centre and Edexcel (Pearson) and AQA examination centre for the English GCE Advanced Levels. We have also prepared a special intensive SAT/ACT exam course for students who are interested in applying to American universities.
Our school focuses on developing both students’ academic abilities and their artistic, athletic and leadership potential. The majority of our students are preparing to study at Oxbridge, Russell group, and Ivy League universities as well as acclaimed architecture, art and music schools. The school offers a substantial scholarship program with about 20% of students being scholars.
Diagnosting student potential
We believe that the learning process should begin with a set of diagnostic exercises that help us to understand not just a student’s knowledge in academic subjects, but also their skills and natural abilities. As a result of this process, we are then able to match a student with an educational program that will meet their needs and potential.
By understanding the requirements of the best universities in the world, we take care of the academic achievements on the one hand and we actively promote the personal development of our students (participation in volunteer activities, internships, competitions, workshops) on the other.
We place great emphasis on critical thinking and we believe it is important to develop our students’ varied competences, such as: communication and presentation, creativity and innovation, teamwork and project management, critical thinking and problem solving, ability to collect, filter and absorb information.
Architecture should stimulate, inspire and give students the feeling of being in an important and unique place. We want our school to be a place where students don’t want to leave. To achieve our educational goals we have created:

Shortly speaking, diagnostics is a real eye opener. As parents, we think we know our child very well but as it turns out, there are many things we are not even aware of. It’s very important to get to know both the strong side of our child as well as his weaknesses, which need some work to be done.- Student’s parents
I would never have been accepted by Oxford with my IB exams results! Never ever! A Level gave me the opportunity to chose the subjects I was good at and interested in. I could easily focus on three subjects, I was predisposed to and that was it! I got accepted and I’ve studied the major, I’ve wanted.- Former student (MSc Chemistry, University of Oxford)
Mentor is a professional who has vast knowledge about teaching. By observing the progress of the pupil, he is able to respond accordingly, suggest and advise in choosing the optimal solutions regarding further academic performances.- Student's parents
Akademeia is created by people who have succeeded within their academic fields and at the same time, who are passionate about teaching the students.- Former student (BSc Economics & Geography, UCL and MSc Finance & Accounting, Imperial College London)
