Values and vision

Isle of Portland Aldridge Community Academy (IPACA) believes in setting the highest standards for pupils, whether that be in terms of good behaviour or academic achievement. It encourages children always to do their best and has set its sights on becoming a high-achieving school.

Staff focus on the needs of individual children as well as full classes. A new behaviour policy introduced in 2016 is further improving the attitudes of students around the school.

IPACA works with external support agencies including Wimborne Teaching School Alliance, which assists the school in maths, English and science.

Ofsted report

“The conduct of pupils around the school site is improving. Year 1 pupils’ achievement in phonics is rising because of better-quality teaching. The principal, supported by the interim executive principal of another multi-academy trust, is taking decisive action to improve the school.”
