Described by OFSTED 2009 as good with many outstanding features and a Sixth Form which is outstanding in every respect, the school is a six form co-educational selective school with a roll in excess of 1300, 400 of which are in the Sixth Form. In recent years, the school has been heavily oversubscribed. There are regularly 500+ first choice applications for the 192 places available.
The school aims to create a stimulating environment in which the individual is the central focus for all teaching and learning. The central purpose is to help all students to reach their potential academically, culturally, aesthetically and physically. To that end, an enormous amount of time is invested by staff, governors and parents. All are valued for the contribution that they make and the school is a well ordered, pleasant and a positive place in which to learn and work.
The hallmark of the school over many years has been its academic success. The majority of students leave to continue their studies at University after “A2” Levels. Regular numbers are sent to the prestigious universities, including Oxford and Cambridge and the Russell Group Universities.
ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES
Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School is situated approximately one mile from the A2 and close to Sidcup Train Station. It occupies an area of well over 17 acres and is bordered by parkland “The Glades”, Sidcup Sports Centre and the local golf club. It is also close to all amenities and the local High Street.
