About Croxley Danes School
Croxley Danes School is a new, oversubscribed secondary school which opened in September 2017. It is part of The Danes Educational Trust which comprises two schools: St Clement Danes School, an Outstanding school with "World Class" status and Croxley Danes School. In its first year of opening, Croxley Danes is operating from within the St Clement Danes site in Chorleywood; thereafter, it will move to its permanent site in Baldwins Lane, Croxley Green. Its Headteacher is Mr Stephen Thompson who was previously Deputy Head at St Clement Danes School; Dr Josephine Valentine, a DfE Advisor and National Leader in Education is Executive Headteacher and has oversight of both schools within the Trust.
If appointed to a role at the school, you will benefit from working as part of an established and thriving Trust blueprinted on St Clement Danes' exceptional reputation for cutting edge staff development and outstanding outcomes for its students. You will also have a significant and exciting role to play in shaping the school for its first two cohorts of students and beyond. Career development opportunities abound: St Clement Danes leads the Herts & Bucks Teaching School Alliance so CPD is top notch. As Croxley Danes grows, so will the middle and senior leadership teams, meaning that promotion within the Trust is a distinct possibility for outstanding employees.
The staff team is a happy and stable one; the students are capable, concientious and self-motivated learners. Have a look at our website's news pages to get a taste of the student experience or follow us on Twitter @croxleydanes. You can also watch our students' video below which was prepared for this year's Open Day in September. The school is close to beautiful countryside - Google images of the Chess Valley for a taste - and on the Metropolitan line into London. A few minutes from Jct 18 of the M25, the school is close to towns regularly voted as some of the best places in the UK to live and raise a family and, although an affluent part of the country, there is plenty of affordable housing in nearby Watford and its surroundings. If you choose to apply for a job with the Trust, you will join a happy, successful team whilst making a wise investment in your future career in teaching. We hope to hear from you.
