About De Lacy Academy
We are a rapidly improving school, with staff at all levels showing ambition and drive. We are a school with a vision, which we strive to share with both staff and students through the principles of distributed leadership, collaborative working and transparency.
Our curriculum was described in our very recent Ofsted report of 10th and 11th November 2009 as ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ features. We believe in true personalisation of the curriculum in order to get the most potential from our students and this is a key factor in the raising of student attainment in recent years. Ofsted states that; ‘All staff share a vision for the future which puts the student at its heart and work together effectively to put strategies in place which are having a positive impact.’
Students at our school are well looked after and they appreciate the care that they receive and the guidance and support to help them into the next stage in their career.
We are at the beginning of a journey into ‘Building Schools for the Future’ (BSF). This will mean a newly built school with ‘state of the art’ facilities and information technology taking a central role in driving learning and teaching both as a stand- alone subject as well as across the curriculum.
