The school is firmly committed to the notion of equality of opportunity. It firmly believes in removing barriers to learning for all students, irrespective of their race, faith, gender, or background. Value is also placed on the idea of maximising achievement through personalising learning in a positive culture of respect and independence.
“Students who join the school partway through the year make outstanding progress, because they are very well supported. Teaching is good with some that is outstanding. Teachers’ skilful questioning and strong subject knowledge deepen students’ understanding. Students from a wide range of backgrounds get on well with each other. Relationships between staff and students are respectful… Parents are supportive of the school, and feel it is a very safe place for their children to be.”
