About Horbury Academy

Horbury Academy is proud to be part of Place Partnership, a family of schools where collaboration, professional growth and high-quality education go hand in hand. While every academy retains its own distinctive character and strong community identity, colleagues across the Trust benefit from shared expertise, excellent development opportunities and the support of a wider network of passionate education professionals.

Horbury Academy is a co‑educational 11–16 school at the heart of the Horbury community, educating almost 1,100 young people. The academy building is purpose built, under one roof, allowing for a unique community and supportive feel.

Our academy is a lively, forward-thinking environment where pupils are encouraged to aim high, work hard and discover their potential. Learning sits at the centre of everything we do, supported by a curriculum designed to build deep knowledge, curiosity and confidence. Pupils are extremely valued at Horbury, and all staff are driven to ensure that they achieve during their time in the academy. High classroom standards and expectations underpin this.

Beyond the classroom, students benefit from a rich programme of extracurricular and enrichment opportunities that broaden horizons and nurture personal growth.

We believe every young person has unique strengths, and we are dedicated to helping them flourish. High expectations underpin our culture — from attendance and punctuality to conduct, effort and engagement. By focusing on the small things that matter, we create a calm, purposeful atmosphere where students can thrive academically and personally.

Horbury Academy is known for its warm, respectful relationships and strong sense of community. Pupils are encouraged to take pride in themselves, their academy and the wider world. Their determination, enthusiasm and willingness to contribute makes the academy a truly unique place.

Joining Horbury Academy means becoming part of something bigger. Alongside the welcoming, supportive environment of our school, you'll benefit from the collaboration, innovation and career opportunities that come with being part of Place Partnership. Whether you're an experienced professional or just beginning your career in education, you'll be joining a Trust that is committed to developing its people, investing in its schools and helping every member of staff make a lasting difference to the lives of young people.
