About Outwood Academy Brumby
Chief Executive Officer: Martyn Oliver
Principal: Angela Hull
We are a Good rated, 11-16 academy in the friendly, North Lincolnshire town of Scunthorpe with easy access to the stunning countryside.
The Academy became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2012 and has been transformed beyond recognition. Having formerly been in Special Measures, the academy has undergone three Ofsted visits during this transformational period.
Following the first monitoring visit in November 2012, Ofsted noted that the school had shown remarkable progress in nine weeks, including establishing a ‘refreshingly open style of leadership that has re-energised staff.’
After the second monitoring visit in March 2013, inspectors noted that that the quality of teaching was improving very quickly.
In March 2015 we underwent a Section 5 Inspection which saw us rated Good with Outstanding leadership. The report noted that students enjoyed coming to school, and importantly that they felt safe and well-cared for.
As we strive to become Outstanding, we want you to help to take us to the next level.
To help you do that, we work hard to ensure we reduce workload on our colleagues, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.
We will also actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all staff receiving a minimum of two hours’ CPD each week.
We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including a health cash plan, a cycle to work scheme, plus a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy, with offers exclusively for Outwood colleagues.
