About Outwood Academy Valley
Chief Executive Officer: Martyn Oliver
Principal: Dave Cavill
Outwood Academy Valley is a remarkable school by any measure. Among the top four schools for Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire for Grade A*-C GCSEs, including English and Maths, we are poised to take things to the next level.
We converted to Academy status in 2012 at the heart of the acclaimed Outwood Grange Academies Trust. Having been given Notice to Improve following a full inspection in February 2011, we had transformed ourselves by 2014: now being ranked Good with Outstanding leadership and management.
By 2016, an incredible 82% of our students were achieving five GCSEs with good grades, with 85% gaining at least a C in both English and Maths. With your talent, we believe we can achieve even more – and make an even bigger difference to the lives of our students.
Innovation and best practice are central to everything we do, including a vertical curriculum delivering a two-year Key Stage 3 and a three-year Key Stage 4. This allows us to personalise learning for students of all abilities – with the most ambitious pursuing fast-track opportunities and intensive workshops whilst their peers enjoy the time they need to master their subjects and maximise their grades. What’s more, we equally value vocational, practical, creative and academic qualities, ensuring that no child is ever left behind.
We have a simple and clear school ethos: “Students First”.
