Values and vision

The Pocklington approach to learning and development is focused on the spiritual and physical well-being of each child. The school believes in instilling a lifelong love of learning that enables pupils to fulfil their potential and achieve long-term happiness.

Unlocking an individual’s potential means fostering a culture that encourages successful learning and creative thinking, while rewarding initiative and independence. It also means creating an environment in which pursuing personal passions outside lesson time complements the achievement of academic success. From the earliest years at Pocklington, learning takes place both in the classroom and elsewhere around the school.

ISI report

Pupils show excellent moral awareness, and high levels of cultural awareness are evident in the easy integration of boarders from overseas into the community.”
