About Saint Gabriel's College
Saint Gabriel’s College is a mixed, voluntary aided, smaller than average sized Church of England secondary school for children aged 11-16. It lies within the diocese of Southwark in London.
The school’s ethos is inclusive and it offers places to students of all faiths and backgrounds. The majority of the students are from minority ethnic backgrounds.
St Gabriel’s College, which has a pupil roll of around 400, opened in September 2012 and is a Specialist Arts and Music College with its additional funding being used to provide specialist equipment such as a wide array of musical instruments, a media suite as well as specialist staff to support teaching and learning. A range of enrichment activities are available across every key stage and include choirs, orchestras, dance and drama clubs, various college productions and a creative writing club.
Values and vision
St Gabriel’s College sets high expectations and prides itself on getting the best out of its pupils. Its approach is to work as a family. Each tutor group has students aged 11 to 16, a system devised to promote excellent relationships across the school. Students support and encourage each other, and each child is known and nurtured.
The college works hard to build strong partnerships with parents and carers.
“The effective way that school leaders, staff and student leaders work harmoniously together means that the school community understands the vision for the school. This partnership has created a set of values and beliefs that support the school’s priority of promoting students’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural development.”
