About Saint George Catholic Voluntary Aided College

St George Catholic College is an oversubscribed and growing college, both in terms of the number of students on roll and in terms of the ability of the students who are joining us. The College has a proven track record of success and is rated by Ofsted as good with outstanding features. This is a very exciting time for the College as we are on an upward trajectory and aiming for a judgement of ‘Outstanding’.

We are a small, Catholic college with a strong tradition of academic and sporting achievement. Knowing our students personally and guiding each of them to achieve their full potential is a key to ours and their success.  As a faith school within the state educational system we work in partnership with our Local Authority and the Catholic diocese of Portsmouth to create a learning community that we are all proud to be part of.

Recent government and diocese inspections have praised the college ethos and the attitude of our students.“THE STUDENTS' SPIRITUAL, MORAL, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT IS EXEMPLARY” – OFSTED 2011

St George has excellent facilities and regularly achieves outstanding outcomes in these two subject areas. Being a small college we are able to provide a personalised learning programme, yet still deliver an impressive breadth of subjects and students achieve well across the curriculum.  Above all, St George provides a positive environment where it is a pleasure to work, learn and flourish.
