About Staindrop Academy
Staindrop Academy is a successful 11–16 Academy. Set on the western edge of the historic village of Staindrop and overlooking rolling fields and farms, Staindrop Academy is without doubt one of the most attractively situated schools in the region.
Our ethos is built upon a tradition of excellence for the wellbeing, achievements, aspirations and success of our young people. Every child matters at Staindrop and we want them to be happy, valued and successful to fulfil their potential and develop the skills and attributes to succeed in the next stage of their lives.
We are keen for our students to develop as confident, responsible and considerate individuals who excel and make a lasting contribution within and beyond their school life. We are extremely proud of their outstanding achievements in all walks of life. Our students are the finest ambassadors, demonstrating what can be achieved through hard work and a positive attitude. The day-to-day atmosphere of Staindrop is warm, friendly and orderly and visitors always comment on the calm and purposeful atmosphere that pervades every aspect of school life.
The school has recently had a successful Ofsted inspection and was graded ‘Good’. We are delighted that Ofsted has recognised all the excellent work undertaken and has acknowledged that Staindrop Academy truly is a ‘special place’. The report demonstrates the ‘good quality education’ being provided alongside the wonderful culture that exists within the school. We believe that we are ‘building something special’ at the school and the report highlights the drive and improvements for our students and the many key strengths of our academy. https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/23/144991
