About The Leigh Academy

The Leigh Academy is a mainstream, state-academy secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Dartford in Kent and there are 1485 pupils on roll.  The school is recognised as being one of the highest achieving comprehensive school’s in England and received the best results in the history of the school in 2016. It boasts a fresh and modern learning environment specialising in business and enterprise and sport and technology. 

It is a purpose-built academy with the most up-to-date technologies available. There are four colleges with 400 pupils in each.

In 1990 it opened as the Leigh City Technology College (one of the original 15 City Technology Colleges) through the personal sponsorship of Sir Geoffrey Leigh, the then chairman and MD of Allied London Properties PLC.
