Lesson 1 Concept of Place:
Students to discuss these three key questions as a group; What is place and what does it mean to different people? What is the difference between space and place? Why does place matter? After 5 minutes students are to discuss their answer as a class. Students to write down the key idea of what place means in a geographical concept. Students are to annotate a range of pictures focusing on what the picture means to a variety of different people. Students are to create a collection of themselves – they research the internet collecting pictures of what represents them and add it to a blank person. To end students are given two pictures and they must decide which one they feel more attracted too and explain to the class why.
