A full A Level French example essay for Albert Camus’ L’Etranger with an essya plan and a commentary signalling where the student has excelled, and where added detail could be added. Checked by native speaker for accuracy, but achievable standard for high-achieving student.

Works well as an exercise for A Level writing revision lessons - asking students to label and highlight the different components of a successful essay (including, for example, the PETAL structure across paragraphs), before ‘stealing’ useful language and content ideas.
