Understand that different options are available to communities to defend their coasts.

Understand that all solutions have advantages and disadvantages.

Make value judgments about which methods may be appropriate in which circumstances.

Students move from station to station to acquire an overview of the different types of coastal defence. Particularly useful in year 11 Geography or for year 12 students who didn't cover coasts at gcse but now need the background.
Printout and laminate the source sheets and give students a few minutes at each 'station' before moving them on. A timer with bleeper on the board can add dynamism.
