This is the current hype in (almost) every Junior/Middle school across the globe - The video game Among Us! Students are hyped and would like to play it 24/7 on their phones. Why don’t we incorporate this pop culture straight into our classroom and make crewmates and impostors our scholastic friends? I have designed Among Us identification cards to transform and gamify traditional classwork with an Among US theme. And this is how you get the most disengaged student to complete his/her math work finally!

What is Among US?

Crewmates must run around the ship and try to complete a set of tasks while trying to root out and avoid getting killed by the one or several impostors. Players can be voted off the ship, so each game becomes one of survival: Successfully vote off the impostors, or complete all your tasks to win. It’s simple, cartoony and easy enough for a five-year-old to play on an iPhone. (https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/14/style/among-us.html. Retrieved: November 15, 2020)

The classroom version does not include killing! I added slight modification to the game to make it student friendly.

Included are:

33 Crewmate identity cards
3 impostor identity cards
3 Page teacher manual with game description
1 Emergency meeting poster (letter size)
