This hands-on craft is a great way for children to show what they know about Bessie Coleman, the first African American woman to gain an international pilot’s license. Making a craft is fun, it’s engaging, and it makes learning about significant people in history more memorable.

The craft is very easy to assemble, and I’ve included options for three-line sizes depending on the age of your children.

These would look great on a display, so I’ve also added a display phrase if you’d like to use it.

Children make a craft of Bessie Coleman and write on the helmet she’s holding.

U.S and U.K versions included, along with visual instructions.

I hope your children enjoy making their Bessie Coleman craft!
